This Privacy Policy explains how Customs Lookup ("we", "us", or "the site") collects, uses, and shares information when you use customs-lookup.com. We aim to keep this short, plain-language, and honest.

1. Information we collect

We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or other personal details to use the site's free tools. The information we do collect falls into three categories:

  • Tool inputs. When you use the duty calculator or HS code lookup, the values you enter (HS code, product description, country, shipment value, shipping cost) are processed to generate your result. These inputs are not stored to a user profile.
  • Standard log data. Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) logs your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic analysis.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See section 3.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Operate the duty calculator, HS code search, and country guide features.
  • Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or technical attacks against the site.
  • Understand which content is useful so we can improve it.
  • Display advertisements through Google AdSense.

We do not sell personal information. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves.

3. Cookies and advertising

Customs Lookup uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

4. Third-party services

In addition to Google AdSense, we may use:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, and security. Cloudflare's privacy notice is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • Google Fonts — to load the Inter typeface.
  • Google Search Console — for search performance analytics on aggregated, non-identifying data.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access information held about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of your information.
  • Object to processing or withdraw consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Children

Customs Lookup is intended for adults engaged in international trade. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

7. International data transfers

The site is operated through Cloudflare's global network. Visitor logs and aggregated traffic data may be processed outside your country of residence, including in the United States and the European Union. Cloudflare and Google maintain industry-standard safeguards for cross-border transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

8. Data retention

Server logs are typically retained for up to 90 days for security and operational purposes. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be retained longer. Tool inputs are not stored to a user profile.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
